UK WITS

WITS Document Pack 3 has been updated and is now available to members. The updated pack includes the device profile files needed to develop devices that are compatible with all versions of the WITS standard. Previously pack 3 only contained the device profile files needed to develop a WITS V1.2 device, and you needed the files from document packs 1 and 2 to develop devices that are backwards compatible with WITS V1.0 and WITS V1.1 respectively.

WITS Document Pack 3 is now available to members, including all relevant technical documentation for WITS V1.2. Contact the WITS Secretary to request the pack.  

The WITS V1.2 release has been updated to include TB38, and is now finalised as :-

• TB35
• TB37
• TB38

the specification is being updated and the formal updated specification 'WITS release pack 3' will be announced shortly for members and a formal release date announced.

TB35, 37 and 38 are available now in the members area of the document library so that vendors can begin implementation.

WITS Technical Bulletin 38 has been released and is available to members in the document library. This TB will be included in the upcoming WITS V1.2 release (in addition to the existing TB35 and TB37). The TB corrects several minor issues discovered since WITS V1.1 was released:

• LAN clock synchronisation procedure (using g50v3 object)
• Implementation table for secure authentication g120 objects
• Incremental Configuration error code corrections
• Sample XML device profile corrections
• Clarification of firmware download filename
• Corrections and clarifications to TB35 and TB37
• Backwards compatibility recommendation for Field Devices

The first release of the WITS test specification (for WITS V1.1) is now formally released and available to be purchased.

 Having been formally tested and proven on all founder vendors devices, WITS V1.1 is now formally released, with information being available to members in the Release 2 Document Pack.

WITS V1.1 includes the following Technical Bulletins :-

• TB34
• TB36

The WITS V1.0 specification has been released for vendor interoperability testing. Information is available in the Release 1 document pack

WITS V1.0 includes all Technical Bulletins TB1-32 ( except the rejected TB18 ).
